ANOTHER FULL DAY PT. 3

SCIENCE CENTER FOR MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY THE WAY THE BUILDING COMBINED THE CURVATURE IN THE FACADE SURFACE ALONG WITH THE GLASS WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE. OVERALL IT MADE FOR A GOOD LOOK.

HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL BY PETER EISENMAN.
THIS MEMORIAL IS GETS ITS POINT ACROSS OF REMEMBERING THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES. THESE STONE PILLARS ARE IN A PATTERN ON A UNDULATING SURFACE. THEREFORE THE PILLARS HAVE DIFFERENT HEIGHTS AS YOU MOVE THROUGH THE MEMORIAL. TO ME, I GET THE FEELING THAT THEY REPRESENT THE JEWISH PEOPLE INSIDE THE CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND HOW RANDOM PEOPLE WERE LINED UP AND KILLED.

THE PATTERN OF THE PILLARS ALLOWS FOR GREAT VIEWS BETWEEN ROWS OF THE STONES. HOWEVER, ITS KINDA WEIRD WHEN YOU ARE WALKING THROUGH IT, BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE IF ANY ONE UNLESS YOU BOTH ARE ON THE SAME ROW.
